Home Alone (Anomaly) combines four systems during every night: evidence tools help you judge a visitor, sanity reflects the cost of bad decisions, allowance or run progress rewards useful actions, and platform controls determine whether you can operate the house under pressure. Mastering the relationship between them matters more than memorizing one visitor table. The stable loop is to gather evidence, decide at the door, read the outcome, then return to chores.

Evidence status: Roblox officially confirms the trust-and-survive premise and console availability. CCTV, night vision, audio cues, porch-light rejection, sanity behavior, allowance goals, and precise controls are documented by current community guides. Exact values, formulas, button mappings, and platform differences need in-game testing. Checked 2026-08-06.

Cameras and night vision

Use the laptop to compare the doorstep, yard, vehicles, presence, movement, and transformations. Night vision is a second observation layer, not a universal answer.

Sanity

Current sources describe sanity as the run’s failure pressure after incorrect visitor choices, with worsening visual, audio, and house effects.

Protect and interpret sanity

Allowance

Chores and correct visitor interactions are reported to advance a visible night target. Keep this run objective separate from persistent lobby coins.

Controls

PC, mobile, and console players use the same evidence loop but may see different prompts. Console support is official; exact mappings are not published.

Use platform-safe controls

Evidence channels work together

Start with the visitor’s story. A physical claim about smoke, a faucet, a cat, or water sends you into the house. A claim involving a person, dog, car, movement, or appearance may send you to a normal camera. A transformation or scale clue may require night vision. A voice change or camera glitch requires audio. The primary mistake is treating the laptop as a magic detector when the request points to a different system.

Build a baseline before toggling modes. On a camera case, observe the normal feed, identify the subject, and then enable night vision on the same view. On an audio case, allow the line to finish before speaking over it, switching feeds, or walking away. On a room-state case, inspect the exact object and return to the door instead of relying on a distant camera angle.

Camera system discipline

Current guides place the laptop in the front room and describe feeds for the doorstep, backyard, and nearby vehicles. The useful operation sequence is open, select, observe, compare, and close. Do not flip rapidly through every feed; you can miss a short movement or sound and forget which view showed the visitor.

Night vision can reveal a change that normal CCTV does not. It is currently associated with several visitors, but not all. Treat “no change on night vision” as meaningful only when that visitor’s current case specifically uses night vision and the subject was visible in both views. See the Camera System guide and the visitor camera cases.

Sanity is feedback, not identification

Community walkthroughs describe sanity loss when an Anomaly is admitted or a genuine person is wrongly rejected. They also report darkening vision, auditory hallucinations, and a degraded house as pressure increases. Those effects help diagnose that earlier decisions went wrong, but they do not tell you which current visitor is safe before you act.

No official numeric formula was found. Avoid building a strategy around a claimed starting value, fixed deduction, or guaranteed item recovery. Use the visible current meter and effects, then prioritize error prevention. Optional reported Sanity Items may add margin, but they are update-sensitive and cannot replace evidence checks.

Allowance connects chores and visitors

Current guides describe an allowance target on the living-room board, with progress from chores and correct interactions. Some sources repeat $180, but Roblox’s official description does not publish that amount. Read the target displayed in your own run. A patch can change totals without changing the overall system.

Allowance is not automatically the same as lobby Coins. A run objective can determine whether the night succeeds, while persistent currency can purchase items between runs. Record the label and where it appears before combining them in a calculation. The Allowance guide provides a no-guessing method for tracking progress.

Porch-light and door decisions

Current walkthroughs report two practical outcomes: interact with the door to admit a visitor whose evidence checks out, or turn off the porch light using the switch beside the entrance to reject a reported Anomaly. The exact prompt and immediate animation can vary. Wait for outcome feedback before resuming a chore.

Do not use the porch light as a generic panic button before completing the check. Wrongly rejecting a genuine visitor is also reported to affect sanity or progress. The decision system rewards evidence, not maximum refusal.

Controls by platform

Roblox officially says Home Alone is available on consoles after Update 2. That verifies platform availability, not a button chart. PC can show keyboard or mouse prompts, mobile can show touch targets, and console can show controller glyphs. The safest guide describes operations—interact, switch feed, toggle night vision, adjust a minigame, open the door, toggle the porch light—then tells each player to follow the glyph on screen.

Before the first visitor, practice camera switching, night vision, interaction hold versus tap, and exiting the laptop. Keep the Roblox system menu separate from the game’s laptop and board. If a prompt disappears, step away and re-approach rather than guessing another platform’s key. The Controls guide covers each device class without inventing a button map.

A low-error systems routine

  1. Read the board and begin one chore.
  2. At a knock, stop and listen to the complete request.
  3. Choose one primary evidence system.
  4. Observe a baseline, then the required comparison.
  5. Make the door or porch-light decision.
  6. Read sanity and allowance feedback without inventing a formula.
  7. Return to the exact chore substep.
  8. If the interface fails, use the Troubleshooting guide before restarting.

This routine is suitable for solo play because it minimizes context switches. In a group, one player can operate the laptop while another checks a room, but both should report raw observations before agreeing on a decision. “The model looked weird” is weaker than “the oven had no smoke despite the claim.”

Update-sensitive fields

Recheck visitor-to-feed mappings, night-vision transformations, voice cues, sanity deductions, allowance targets, item effects, and controller prompts after updates. The Roblox Games API recorded the experience updated on August 4, 2026, while the public description still names Update 2 from July 30. A timestamp confirms change activity; it does not identify which formula or visitor changed.

Systems FAQ

Is night vision always better than normal CCTV?

No. Normal CCTV establishes presence, movement, yard, and vehicle context. Night vision is useful only for cases whose reported tell appears in that mode.

What happens at zero sanity?

Current guides describe a failed run, but exact thresholds and deductions require live testing. Follow the current meter rather than a copied formula.

Is the allowance target always $180?

That value is repeated by community sources, not published in the official description. Use the board in your current run.

What are the console controls?

Console support is official, but a reliable complete mapping was not found. Follow the game’s current controller glyphs and practice before the first call.
